Description

Manga Art - Been a big influence all through my life. I grew up in Hong Kong and have been completely addicted (much to my parent's dismay) with it since I was a kid going to school there. I love the energy, humour and amazing detail of the work. Particularly admire work by Clamp :)

Oriental Culture - See above comment. I grew up in the far east, I still halfway think of it as home and am desperate to go back and visit. A trip to Japan and Okinawa with my family was like a dream come true two years ago.

Sylphielmetallium - She is one of those people who manages to make art work that blows my eyes out of the back of my head. I love how she paints water, fish and has complete mastery over light and photoshop effects. I would kill to have even half her talent. >>> :iconsylphielmetallium:

Einlee - Another one of my influential DA artists. I love how she manages to do anime art and make it look so breathtakingly gorgeous to look at. I love the colours, the shading, the compositions, I could sit and stare at her work for hours and not get bored. >>> :iconeinlee:

Books - I read, way too much. I also write, albeit badly thanks to my shamefully short attention span. A lot of my art is inspired by both things I read and thins I write about, be it a character from a modern well known novel or one that I threw together myself in ten minutes. One of my guilty pleasures; bad character construction.

Semi-Realism - Although I love Manga art, I also love and admire people who can draw real people as they are. I'm trying to aim with my own art to eventually merge the two in some way. Since I can draw well on paper from references, but I really love painting on the computer with my own theme to it, lets see if I can fuse the two.

Jason Chan - Not going to lie; some of his work really freaks me out. But having said that, it's easy to spot the deep thought and mind boggling skill in his work. He's an amazing digital artist who I've been a fan of for since I was still in school.

Schin "Luciole" Loong - Probably one of my biggest inspirations to date. I simply adore her work; theme, style, brush work, colours, the lot. I love following her work not just for her talent but also because she uses the same media as me, although...much more professionally. Again; would murder for a slice of her talent and skill. >>> :iconluciole:

Mythology - I've always been fascinated with myths and legends from all over the world. From stories of the ancient egyptian gods to Japanese folklore. My personal favourite story is of Hades and Persephone, the Greek god of the underworld and the goddess of spring.

Vintage - I have an obsession with old things. Books, jewellery, fabric, clothes, clockwork, keys, anything that looks like it might have some kind of story to it from the person who it previously belonged to.

Colours - I hav an unhealthy obsession with colours. I don't have a favourite; I love them all.

Ninjatic - An artist I only found recently. Slightly darker themes than I would normally go for, but his digital art work is so amazingly skilled I couldn't just ignore it. One of those artists who you grow to like the more you look at his work. Given a slightly darker edge to my inspiration which I kind of like :) >>> :iconninjatic:
